Study assessing platelet concentration effects on platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment outcomes in knee osteoarthritis.

In this cohort study of 253 patients with knee osteoarthritis, researchers found that platelet concentration positively correlated with clinical improvements in KOOS and IKDC scores over a 12-month follow-up. The high-platelet group (> 1,200,000 platelets/mL) demonstrated a significantly lower reintervention rate of 3.3% compared to 15.0% in the low-platelet group (< 800,000 platelets/mL) at the one-year mark.
