Study looking at the treatment of acute grade 3 hamstring injuries in collegiate athletes using platelet-poor plasma.

A cohort study of 20 collegiate athletes with acute grade 3 hamstring strains treated with platelet-poor plasma (PPP) demonstrated significant pain relief within 2 weeks and a mean return to unrestricted play of 29.4 days, and no injury recurrence at 52 weeks. This suggests that PPP may be an effective treatment option for acute muscle injuries.
