This retrospective study compared the effectiveness of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections and ultrasound-guided percutaneous tenotomy (Tenex) for treating chronic medial or lateral epicondylitis in 62 patients who had failed previous conservative treatments. Using surveys to measure pain, function, and quality of life, researchers found that both the PRP and Tenex groups experienced clinically and statistically significant improvements across all metrics. Ultimately, the study concluded that there was no statistically significant difference between the two modalities, suggesting that Tenex is a non-inferior alternative to PRP for resolving persistent elbow pathology.
